Like Emily Post, but with Better Handwriting

It's been several weeks since the last Sunday Afternoon Post, and unfortunately, this is going to be another one. However, to make it up to you, I invite you to check out The Pen & Ink Journal, the blog of calligrapher Lisa Ridgely. Her work is absolutely fantastic.

How does this fit in with Sunday etiquette, you might ask? Well, she has a post dedicated to the dos and don't of addressing envelopes. From reading it, I, for one, learned that I've been addressing my invitations to non-married co-habitating couples all these years. Who'da thunkit?

Lisa's philosophy is much like that of Emily Post, on her blog she writes:
The most important thing to remember about etiquette is that its purpose is to provide guidelines for making both you and your guests comfortable. You know your guests best. Don't feel as if you absolutely must follow the “rules” if you don't feel comfortable doing so. Address your guests in the manner that suits both you and them!
Cheers to Mrs. Ridgely! With her take on "the rules," I couldn't agree more.

It should be pointed out that I found Lisa's website through one of her comments on Letters & Journals!
