Ink Swatch: Sailor Red Brown

Mmmmm... I love red-browns and red-blacks. I find myself really attracted to dark inks with colored accents, like Montblanc Racing Green, a green-black, and this Sailor Red Brown.

What's your favorite base color/accent color combo?

Ink Swatch: Montblanc Blue

Yup, this is what it looks like. It seems a little on the powdery side for me. Has anyone else had any other experiences with Montblanc Blue? Fountain pen inks often differ depending on how long they have been sitting, or whether they have been shaken before use or not. So, I'm wondering if this sample that came to me from a pen pal is truly representative of the color, or if it's an outlier.

Ink Swatch: Stipula Musk Green

Oooooh, I really like this Stipula Musk Green. It seems like the sort of ink one would use to write a letter from a camping trip, or to write a letter from the top of a mountain. It is very earthy and has nice shading. Four stars.

Ink Swatch: Conway Stewart Green

I'm not sure why Conway Stewart bills it as a plain green, it looks very very teal to me.

Ink Swatch: J. Herbin Bleu Myosotis

This image is a pretty accurate representation of what Bleu Myosotis looks like. Though, to add another dimension to it, to my eyes this ink looks like what an arrangement of hydrangeas and lavender might smell like... next to a clothes line of clean linens. Although it's Fall, this ink makes my mind think it's Spring.

Ink Swatch: Levenger Pinkly

One of my pen pals frequently writes a page or two in Levenger Pinkly. I dig it. This image pretty accurately captures the bubble gum pink of the ink.

Ink Swatch: Diamine Prussian Blue

Not a whole lot to say about this particular image. From page to picture, this is Diamine Prussian Blue.

Ink Swatch: Diamine Poppy Red

I consider this to be a pretty good representation of the actual color in Diamine Poppy Red. However, I was unable to capture this brightness of the ink. So, imagine this color, saturation, etc. and then make it glow in your mind. That's Poppy Red.

Ink Swatch: Diamine Pumpkin

One of my pen pals has an enviable collection of inks. And to my delight, he uses them. In a recent letter, my pal exposed me to a very pleasant orange: Diamine Pumpkin. The color reminds me of J. Herbin Orange Indien... but with a more modern feel, and less shading (although that could just be the pen my pal wrote with). Check it out:
